Pay rises
Like the rest of the TVöD, the S table rose 3.0%, at least €110, on 1 April 2025 and a further 2.8% on 1 May 2026. The agreement runs at least until 31 March 2027.
SuE allowance
On top there is a monthly SuE allowance: €130 in S 2 to S 11a, €180 in S 11b and S 12 and in S 14 and S 15 for Fallgruppe 6 work. S 13, S 16, S 17 and S 18 get none. It does not rise with pay increases and is paid pro rata in part time.
Recovery days
Staff in social and childcare services get two paid recovery days (Regenerationstage) a year at a 5-day week. Instead of the SuE allowance they can choose up to two more days off for the next year by 31 October.
Steps
Without relevant experience you start at step 1, with at least one year at step 2 and with at least three years usually at step 3. Since 1 October 2024 the step times are the same as in the general table: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 years, step 6 after 15 years.
Annual bonus
For municipalities it is 85% in 2026. In hospitals and care homes S 2 to S 8b get 90% and S 9 to S 18 85%.
Working hours
39 hours a week, voluntarily up to 42.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an S table for federal staff?
No. The federal government has no S table; the federal states use the TV-L S table (Anlage G).
Does the table apply to part time?
Part-time staff receive table pay and allowances pro rata to their agreed weekly hours.
