About Salneto
Salneto exists because salary calculators disagree with each other, for the same salary, popular sites publish take-home figures that differ by thousands per year, and almost none of them show how they got their numbers.
What we do differently
- Official rules only. Every engine is built from the tax authority's published rates and formulas, in Germany, the wage tax runs on the ministry's own algorithm, the same one payroll software must use.
- Transparent methodology. Each country has a methodology page listing the exact figures, legal sources and assumptions.
- Automated testing. Every calculation is covered by a test suite of hand-verified fixtures that must pass before any change goes live.
- Stated assumptions. Every result says what it assumes, and our after-tax, hourly and most guide pages carry their last-updated date.
What we don't do
Salneto provides general information, not tax, legal or financial advice. Calculators simplify: your payslip depends on details no calculator fully knows. For decisions that matter, verify with the tax authority or a qualified adviser.
