How the conversion works
Yearly pay is rate times weekly hours times 52. A 40-hour week is common, and vacation pay of at least 4% is normally built into the rate or paid on top, which this page treats as included. The after-tax figure uses the 2026 Ontario schedule with federal tax, CPP and EI; pick any province in the salary calculator. Every rate from $15 to $60 has its own page with hour tables and overtime, linked above and from the rate pages themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Does the calculator include overtime?
The rate pages show a worked time-and-a-half example at each wage. Ontario overtime starts after 44 hours in a week; thresholds differ by province and federally regulated industries.
Is tax on hourly work different from salary?
No. The CRA taxes annual income the same way whether it arrived hourly or as salary. Per-cheque withholding differs slightly, but the year-end position matches the tables here.
