TVöD nursing P 12: salary and net pay 2026

In pay grade P 12 of the TVöD nursing table (P table) you earn €4,657.22 gross a month full time at step 2 and up to €5,493.13 at step 6. At step 3 about €2,979.95 is left in tax class I, after wage tax, social insurance and your supplementary pension share. On top come the nursing allowance of €141.82 and a fixed allowance of €25 (€35 in Baden-Württemberg) a month, both included in net pay. The table has applied since 1 May 2026.

Net pay for North Rhine-Westphalia, no children, statutory health insurance with a 2.9% surcharge and VBL West (1.81% own share). In P 12 everyone starts at step 2; there is no step 1. The next steps follow after one, two, three, four and five years at the previous step. The times to steps 4 to 6 can be shortened or extended depending on performance. The years count in the same grade with the same employer. Hourly pay is the monthly amount divided by 4.348 times weekly hours (38.5 hours in hospitals; care homes and Baden-Württemberg have 39 hours).

Annual bonus and annual gross

The annual bonus (Jahressonderzahlung) is paid with the November salary: 85% of monthly pay in municipal hospitals and care homes; P 5 to P 8 get 90%, P 9 to P 16 85%. Does the table apply to part time?

Part-time staff receive table pay and allowances pro rata, so half the hours means half the pay. The hourly rate stays the same.
